28 week appt.
Growth is normal.
B/P is normal.
H/B is normal.
We’re down to appts every 2 weeks now and have another ultrasound scheduled for the 16th to check positioning.
Also discussed the pros and cons of whether to have a tubal immediately following delivery or wait 8 weeks. The benefits of doing it immediately is less recovery time since I’d be recovering from birth already and the benefits of waiting is that he can observe the uterus, ovaries and fallopin tubes in their normal, non-pregnant size and shape to check for any other issues we might be unaware of. Cons for doing it immediately is not being able to check everything out in their non-pregnant state and cons for waiting is having a seperate recovery time.
Questions for those that have had their tubes tied -
1. When did you have it done? Immediately following child birth or seperately?
2. How was the recovery for you?
3. Based on your experience, what do you recomend?
And just to add my totally selfish reason for wanting it done immediately is that I’m hoping this kiddo is born before the end of the year. I will have already reached the out of pocket max for my health insurance. Everything should be covered 100% at that point.
Thanks in advance ladies!!

I had the Essure procedure done. It is a non-invasive out-patient tubal ligation. No scars, no overnight stays, almost zero recovery time. Basically the doctor uses a small camera to view your tubes and places these micro-inserts into your tubes. The inserts are made of the same material as heart valve replacements and they cause your tube openings to scar closed. You have to use birth control for 3 months. After 3 months you have a special x-ray to make sure your tubes are truly closed. I felt almost no pain afterwards, only slight cramping for a few hours like menstrual cramps. Check out essure.com. I believe they have a demo video. If you have more questions, you can email me. Jess had this done too.
ITA with everything Miss Amy said. The procedure was so easy and the recovery time was small. I would recommend the procedure to anyone. Ask Carie about getting your tubes tied right after delivery. She did that after she had Conor.
I got my tubes tied right after having Sean c-sec. It was easy and since I was recovering from the c-sec at the same time it was not noticeable. My Docs never made any indications about needing to see what my tubes, etc. looked like before and after.
